Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new attachments. They can also boost its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or additional effect, when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as rewards from missions or chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.
To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will have to select it and click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the necessary component or material needed to make that happen.
There are three types: universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will add their name to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding a Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades to gather tools, if a player replaces one glyph by another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from previous versions. Gear is now categorised in tracks, and each item can be upgraded as many times before it is "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials needed do not. This lets players focus their efforts on a couple of key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the upgrade costs across multiple items.
If an item is leveled out, it will be able to receive a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It will reset at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item's kind. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.
If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and cost the same amount of material. However, it has a lower chance of success.
Engineers will use a level in order to measure the height of the building against an established point, like a benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod before turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are built to a high level of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can significantly improve an item's strength and damage as well as other characteristics. This can be done via the item menu or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be done in the rarest of circumstances.
Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.
In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more often than others. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for all stats. This can be good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may also have a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added in addition to the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher the chance of receiving an exclusive bonus.
The game also comes with number set that grants an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an item. This is a great method of giving the character more power without spending a lot of money.
Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can provide a much faster path to a powerful character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game more quickly.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be organized in a variety of ways. They could be of various dimensions, have no elements, or contain a single element. item upgrades can be used to organize data or separating information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways in terms of size and shape.
There are many set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Armor sets with high defense or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not boost the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade in the event that your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already large.
Some set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions which can be useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).
Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items up to parity with the different tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item and the items required to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. For example, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the requirements for upgrading specific items.
In general, weapons and jewelry offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. This will also increase the defense value of armor that has a newer appearance.
